The VOOPOO DRAG X is a well-made quality device, but with any vaping product on the market, could experience issues. Hopefully, you will find the questions you have and effectively troubleshoot your VOOPOO DRAG X system with this information.
My VOOPOO DRAG X is not firing when I push the button
This is a surprisingly common issue that customers have and one of the easiest to solve. The most common reason your VOOPOO DRAG X is not firing when you push the button is because it is locked. Your device can be locked and unlocked by simply clicking the fire button five times quickly. The VOOPOO DRAG X is shipped in a locked position to prevent accidentally turning on during shipment. If you click the power button five times quickly it should unlock your device. The LED screen will turn on and show the VOOPOO symbol to indicate it is unlocked.
The second most common reason your product is not firing when you push the button is because the battery is dead. Simply plug your unit into a Type-C USB charging port using the provided cable and wait approximately one hour for your device to charge.
Diminished or Absent Vapor Production
- Symptom: The device generates little to no vapor.
- Potential Remedies:
- Battery Level Verification: Make sure the device is sufficiently powered. Plug it into a power outlet using the supplied USB-C cable and charge until the battery indicator signals a full charge.
- Coil Connection Examination: Confirm that the coil is correctly fitted in the pod or tank. Detach the pod/tank, clean the coil contacts, and securely reinsert it.
- Coil Replacement: If the coil is aged or worn out, consider swapping it with a fresh one. Coils have a finite lifespan and may require replacement for optimal vapor production.
- Wattage Adjustment: Try different wattage settings to find the best range for your coil resistance. Some coils may require higher wattages to produce adequate vapor.
Burnt or Dry Hits
- Symptom: The vapor exudes a burnt or dry taste.
- Potential Remedies:
- Coil Priming: Prior to using a new coil, prime it by soaking the wicking material with e-liquid. Let the coil sit for a few minutes to ensure thorough saturation and avoid dry hits.
- Wattage Reduction: High wattage settings can overheat the coil, resulting in a burnt taste. Dial down the wattage to a level that aligns with your coil resistance and vaping preferences.
- E-Liquid Level Verification: Ensure the tank is filled adequately with e-liquid. Vaping with low e-liquid levels can lead to dry hits.
- Coil Replacement: If the coil is aged or burnt, consider swapping it with a fresh one to eradicate the burnt taste and enhance vapor quality.
Tank or Pod Leakage
- Symptom: E-liquid is seeping from the tank or pod.
- Potential Remedies:
- O-Ring Inspection: Check the tank’s or pod’s O-rings for any damage or misalignment. Swap any damaged O-rings to ensure a proper seal and prevent leaks.
- Tank/Pod Tightening: Make sure all tank/pod components are firmly fastened. Over-tightening can damage the O-rings and cause leaks.
- Appropriate Filling: Refrain from overfilling the tank/pod, which can cause leaks. Fill the tank/pod just shy of the maximum fill line to avoid excessive pressure buildup.
- Cracked plastic: If you dropped your VOOPOO DRAG X, or if it was in a pocket or purse that got bumped around a lot, the plastic pod can have broken. Even if you do not see a crack, if the leak is coming from near the top, the plastic may have been cracked. The plastic in the DRAG X can also crack if it is left below freezing-temperatures for some time.
- Coil installed incorrectly: The VOOPOO DRAG X has a unique coil that easily pushes into the pod, simply push the coil in until it is secured tightly into the pod. If it is in incorrectly then the coil will not sit flush with the device.
- Drawing Too Quickly: If you take very fast, hard draws off just about any vaping device, including the VOOPOO DRAG X, your device will be prone to leaking. Vaping devices use the power of your inhale to pull e-liquid to the heating coils and mix with the vapour. If you pull very long and hard on the device some e-liquid can be pulled into the airflow chambers. For all types of vaping, slow long drags are recommended.
- Device Sitting For Too Long: You should never store any vaping device filled with e-liquid. Over time the e-liquid will saturate your coil and begin to leak. If you are not planning on using your device for more than 24 hours be sure to empty all e-liquid.
- Flying: The increased pressure of flying will make all vaping products leak; even the VOOPOO DRAG X. It is best to empty all vaping devices before flying on a plane.
- Overheating: If you leave any vape in a vehicle in the summer or direct sunlight, it could leak. Overheating the device can cause the e-liquid to expand pushing it out through the coil and out the mouthpiece, causing it to leak. Temperatures rise to expand the size of the molecules of the e-liquid, and if your tank is full to begin with, your e-liquid will have nowhere to go but to leak out of the pod.
- Freezing: Leaving your device in a vehicle or any area under the freezing temperature could cause it to leak. This is because some parts are plastic can become brittle and are then susceptible to breaking under freezing temperatures. The ideal temperature for any vaping device is +10 to +25 degrees Celsius.
Device Fails to Power On
- Symptom: The device doesn’t turn on.
- Potential Remedies:
- Battery Connection Verification: Ensure the battery is correctly inserted and making contact with the device. Cleanse the battery contacts if necessary for a good connection.
- Battery Charging: If the battery is drained, plug the device into a power outlet using the supplied USB-C cable and charge until the battery indicator signals a full charge.
- Battery Replacement: If the battery is damaged or defective, consider swapping it with a fresh one.
Auto-Draw Feature Inactive
- Symptom: The auto-draw feature doesn’t activate.
- Potential Remedies:
- Airflow Verification: Make sure the airflow vents are clear and not blocked. Obstructed airflow can prevent the auto-draw feature from activating.
- Device Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the device to remove any dirt or debris that might be affecting the airflow sensors.
- Settings Adjustment: Check the device settings to ensure the auto-draw feature is enabled. Consult the user manual for instructions on how to adjust the settings.
